MTHA Waste Handling Holding Room, Scarborough

Hiding unsightly garbage dumpsters presented an intriguing problem at this group of highrises. Since the building was going to be in the shared rear yard of four towers, and looked down upon from them, we decided to make a virtue of necessity and treat it as a sculpture, or “folly” with special concentration on the highly-visible roofscape.
