Hinder Park Pavilion, North York

This modest structure houses men's and women's washrooms for a public park, together with equipment and lunch rooms for civic workers. It is wrapped across the brow of a hill, with the upturned roof a counterpoint to the slope below. Washroom entrances open from a covered passageway which spans a jogging path. Extensive glass block provides natural light and durability, and the roof is strongly patterned, since the building is viewed from surrounding highrise apartment towers.
