Walter Harris Memorial Public Library, Markdale

Built in 2000-1, without the benefit of historically-available provincial funding, this building accomplished much through local community donations. 5,000 sf of library space, and an equal amount of storage below, were organized to make the most efficient and attractive possible use of limited resources. Locally-donated materials and trades determined the resulting appearance of the building.
